Be 11.8 pH 3.32 Alc Vol 13% 7.7 Standard Drinks
The mission was to produce a delicate wine from the very warm 2009 vintage. The wine is from selected Pinot Noir clones that had a history of contributing good fruit intensity to our Pinot Noir. The hand picked fruit was soft pressed and separated from skins for minimal colour extraction. Matured for 5 months in 2, 3 and 4 year old Sirugue oak barriques.
On the Palate
The wine has a delicate texture and good length to accompany the soft stone fruit character with a hint of spiciness developing with bottle maturation.

2008 Gold Leaf Pinot Noir
Awards: Multi award winner including finalist for best Victorian Pinot 2009
Fed Square : Best of Victoria
Be 12.3 pH 3.49 Alc Vol 13% 7.7 Standard Drinks
2008 vintage was again very warm with fruit picked 3-4 weeks earlier than usual. Somewhat surprisingly the vintage looks very promising for Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with wines of very good structure and depth. With early picking we have aimed for regional (and varietal) characters to show out in this wine (rather than ripe pluminess and high alcohol of some later picked styles).
Maturation was entirely in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barriques.
On the Palate
The wine exhibits a characteristic forest floor, earthy, gamey nose with a palate of dark cherry and stewed berries, good layering of flavours and silken textured.
Food Match
Enjoy with roast quail or filet of beef, duck or braised lamb shanks
